At Madie, we're a small French pâtisserie in Madrid, and we like to be as simple and honest with your data as we are with our madeleines. This page explains the little bit of information we collect through our website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are
Madie is an artisanal French pâtisserie and specialty coffee café in Madrid. We're the controller of any personal data collected through our website, madie.es.
You can reach us any time at hello@madie.es or by post at C/ Donoso Cortés 62, Chamberí, 28015 Madrid, Spain. We follow EU data protection law (the GDPR / RGPD), Spain's LOPDGDD (Ley Orgánica 3/2018) and the LSSI-CE (Ley 34/2002).
What we collect and why
Our website is purely informational. It shows our menu, our story, a photo gallery, where to find us, and a live Instagram follower count. There's no online ordering, no cart, no payment, and no account to create.
The only personal data you actively give us comes from our catering and events enquiry form. We use it to read your request, reply to you, and prepare a quote. The form collects:
The message box invites details like special preferences and allergies, so if you choose to, it may include dietary or allergy information you decide to share. That's entirely up to you.
The legal basis for handling your enquiry is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and/or your consent in sending the form. Your enquiry reaches our team by email and is handled by Madie staff. (Technically, the request arrives at our site's server and is then forwarded to us.)
Third-party services we use
Like any website, our hosting and content-delivery provider processes standard technical data, such as your IP address, browser/user-agent and timestamps, in order to serve and secure the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting madie.es.
We keep our list of helpers short and deliberate:
Some providers may process data outside the EEA. Where they do, appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply.
Cookies, tracking and selling
To be completely clear: we don't use advertising, marketing, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies. We don't profile you, we don't make automated decisions about you, and we never sell your data to anyone.
The only cookie we might set is a strictly necessary technical one for the content-preview mode used by our own editors, not by normal visitors.
How long we keep your data
We keep your enquiry data only as long as necessary to handle your request, plus a reasonable period afterwards (for example, to follow up or for our records). After that, we delete it.

Our site and services are aimed at a general, adult audience and are not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
